4th Grade Remote Support from Mrs. Ravel! – 2:30 Check-In Mondays-Thursdays!

Just a friendly reminder that ALL 4th-grade remote students should be logging onto Mrs. Ravel's zoom to check in each day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays. It should be quick and easy. It is a great time to make sure everything is completed or almost completed as well as to ask any questions or share any thoughts they may have. See you today at 2:30.

There will NOT be a Friday check in. Please have your student email me if they are unable to come to the check-in. My zoom link will be in Ms. Van Sant's math template!

After talking with Ms. Van Sant and Mrs. Hillis, I am now going to be supporting your remote students at various times throughout the day. One new thing we are going to implement and start tomorrow (Wednesday, 4/21) is an end-of-the-day check-in with me on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. They will log in at 2:30 and we will be finished at 2:45...or sooner if they have all their work finished and have no questions for me. Ms. Van Sant will build my zoom link into her template for students to access easily. We feel that this is a good check to make sure students are completing what needs to be completed each day as well as give them another opportunity to let us know how they are doing and feeling.

The expectation is that every 4th-grade remote student logs in at 2:30 to check in with me. If something comes up and they are unable to log in, please just send me an email at Amy_Ravel@dpsk12.org so I know not to expect them. Students know how to email me so they can take care of doing that. However, it is then up to the student to make sure they have all their work finished.

It will also be a time for your students to ask questions or get clarification on anything that they are confused on for the day. We are hoping this will help students be consistent with finishing their work and taking more autonomy and ownership of their learning.

Please also know that your students can email me at any time during the day if they need support. Also, parents, I am your direct contact if you need anything. Just email me and I can try and assist or I will reach out to the teachers and they can get back to you if it is something specific. Thanks for all of your support through this. I will talk with your kids more about this tomorrow during our first check-in at 2;30. I'm looking forward to working with your kids!
