Dear Southmoor Families,

We are committed to letting you know about incidents that happen at our school. This afternoon in Ms. Bauer’s class one of our students became upset. As a result, members of my team immediately took action to deescalate the situation. Out of an abundance of caution, we cleared the classroom to make sure that all of our students were safe.

We would like to assure you that we take all situations that may be disruptive to our students’ learning environment very seriously. We have talked with the student and their parents about this incident. Our team at Southmoor has been working to support the student. Due to student confidentiality, I am unable to provide specific information about the consequences the student faces.

I would like to assure you that safety is our number one priority. We know that some of our students may be upset. Please know that Ms. Person is available to support if needed.
