Weekly Announcements
Hi All,
I have quite a few quick important announcements so please read!
Here is the sign up for student led conferences that are on March 4th and 5th. Let me know if the times don’t work—I am flexible!
Also, I will be sharing the Math Post-Assessment at the conference so I am not sending them home this round.
Snacks for students:
It would be so helpful to have a few more snacks donated to our classroom if possible.
Special object for poetry:
Because of the snow day, we didn’t do our special object poetry! I have told the students we are going to do it tomorrow. They can bring in a small inexpensive object to class tomorrow. :)
Lauren out on Friday:
I am hosting my sister’s bachelorette weekend in Joshua Tree so I will be absent on Friday. I have not mentioned this to the students yet but I will later in the week.
Reading – Our reading unit connects with poetry this week. Students will identify figurative language while exploring metaphors and similes. We will also continue practicing fluency when reading to ourselves or out loud.
Writing – This week, we’re exploring musical poems, thinking about what makes poems musical. They will learn more about rhyming and alliteration. and onomatopoeia. We will continue writing poetry, including more figurative language!
