Weekly News
Hello Parents,
I was delighted in watching all the students share their work with you at conferences last week. It's hard to believe the change that can come about so quickly during the kindergarten year! Thank you for all the classroom books that were purchased at the book fair!
The next couple of weeks will be everything dinosaurs! In reading we will discuss the difference between fiction and non fiction. Your child is welcome to bring in any dinosaur books, please make sure they are labeled. Students will complete a variety of informational and narrative writing. In math, we will continue practicing adding and subtracting, we will be doing more number stories and starting estimation. Here's a fun fact: The base of the word subtract is <tract> and the denotation is "to pull or draw". It makes so much sense when thinking of the words distract, attract, tractor, traction. All of these words have something to do with pulling away or pulling towards. Learning math vocabulary will help secure math concepts!
