Building Unit goes into it's second week
Hello Famillies,
We had wonderful weather for our neighborhood walk last week! We will use our observational drawings of the houses around the school to inform our writing this week as we add more detail to our work.
This week we will concentrate on the buildings in our neighborhood and compare them to buildings in other places.
Skip will:
Work with students on dramatic retelling of stories.
Support students as we use manipulatives to solve story problems.
Compare our observational drawings with photos of buildings in other cities and countries.
Make a neighborhood map.
Use Orton-Gillingham writing worksheets to familiarize students with the Kindergarten writing format.
and continue our work in pre-reading groups.
Claudine will:
Work with students to make an obstacle course in the block area.
Concentrate on rhyme using the familiar format of nursery rhymes.
Support pre-writing skills by writing letters.
Make patterns with buildings.
Play Uno, matching games and floor puzzles.
Can't wait to get started on the week's activities, see you Monday morning!
