Weekly update

What a whacky week!!

This week, well the three days we had/will have had, we were busy! 

Reading and Writing

We are really focusing on analyzing characters, and bringing that analysis to our writing. We are looking at how character actions influence a story.

Math

We finished up our last unit and the class ROCKED the test! We began Unit 6 this past Tuesday. It is one of my favorite topics: Geometry. So we are comparing shapes, describing shapes, as well as looking at area and perimeter. 

Fundations

We just finished up our first unit. During that unit we learned about closed syllables (short vowel and one or more consonants after the vowel - dog, switch etc), we learned when the end of a word is ch vs tch (tch follows a short vowel - catch, stitch), we also learned that the /w/ sound can change the short a to a short o sound as in wall, squall etc. 

CMAS

The CMAS window is coming up right after spring break. We will begin with Language Arts which will be on on Wednesday April 3rd-Friday April 5th. Then the following week on Tuesday April 9th-Thursday April 11th we will be doing Math. More information to come regarding the daily schedule. 

No school: Monday March 22-April 1st (Spring Break and a PD day on the 1st).
