Safety Update 5.8.19

Dear Isabella Bird Families:
It is our priority to keep you informed of incidents related to student safety. This letter is to let you know that today at 12:15 pm, we had a student who was emotionally escalated. To be cautious, Principal Schuba announced over the intercom that staff and students needed to remain in their classrooms, with the doors locked. Safety and Security was called to the school and Principal Schuba released the students and staff at 1:00 pm.
Please know that all students and staff on the Isabella Bird campus are safe and the decision to keep students in classrooms was done only as a precaution. I would like to assure you that the safety and well-being of our students is our No. 1 priority and I'd like to thank all of our teachers, staff, and students who ensured learning was not interrupted.
