Weekly Announcements
Happy Sunday!
I unfortunately will not be at school for 3 days (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) this week for various trainings, but Fogal will be there on Wednesday and Thursday for literacy instruction.
We have lots going on as the year wraps up.
Don’t forget: Passion Project celebration: Your child has been working hard to explore a passion or curiosity of their choice. Every Friday, students have been researching their interests and learned how to effectively take notes on their research. They are now working to create a presentation/display of their learning. We are going to share their projects on May 20th at 2:15pm. We hope you can make it!
Fun Run: The Fun Run is this Friday, and for our grade, it is at 8:15-9:15. We hope everyone can come and enjoy a (hopefully) warm day with our kids running laps to earn money for our school!
Math: We have completed our unit 6 math test on shape attributes and fractions. Students are beginning to have an understanding of the basis of fractions and did a great job identifying shapes. Unless specifically requested, I am not sending these home because I am using them to write report cards! We are going to begin unit 7 which will continue working on fractions and measurement.
Literacy: We will be continuing to work on the structure of opinion writing and using language of persuasion. We are working in book clubs and practicing discussing books and asking questions to one another, while actively listening to others.
