Building Unit Investigation 2*Who Builds Buildings? What tools do they use?

Hello Parents,

I had a great time at Izzi B.'s Auction on Friday! What a great 80's themed night.

In our second investigation in our Building Study we ask the questions--Who builds buildings? and What tools do they use?

We will make books that connect to the Vera B. William's book A chair for my mother.

We will also construct books that deal with alphabet letters.

In another small group, we will use construction themed manipulatives to represent numbers. 

Shared writing around jobs connected to building houses.

We will go on a "shape hunt" for three dimensional shapes we recognize in architecture. 

The children will list protective equipment related to construction, like safety glasses, gloves, etc. 

We will trace and measure the school's shadow at different parts of the day. 

We will continue our kindergarten readiness with writing groups and pre-reading small groups.
