Class News

Hello everyone,

I can't believe it's our last Monday of Kindergarten... Can I keep all of them next year please? ;)

It was great seeing so many of you at last weeks Fun Run and at  our Portfolio Party! The kids were all very proud of their accomplishments as they should be! Last week we finished up our study of Eric Carle and this week we are going to do a quick author study about Leo Lionni. Today we made text-to-text connections with one of his stories Its Mine!; with  some of Carle's work. Ask your student what they noticed about Lionnni's writing compared to Carle's. This is something you can do over the summer too! When you finish a book asking questions like "What does this story remind you of?" "What connections do you have with this story?" "Does this book remind you of other stories you have read?"

A fun game we added to our math stations was Subtraction Bowling! It was loud but it sure was fun! Students wrote an equation to match what they bowled: 10-____=_____. 

This is our final week of specials! Next week we will have arts day and Field Day! Please join us for field day! Its pretty fun and the kids have a blast. We will also have theme days on Tuesday and Wednesday in the classroom. On Tuesday our class theme will be Camping. Wednesday our theme will be Beach day. We will be doing fun things in the classroom around these summer themes! Students are welcome to dress up to match the theme!
