Hello Wonderful Parents,

Happy Dr. Seuss Day! We have been having a fun, funny day! We started with some green eggs inspired by "Green Eggs and Ham"! I was so surprised how many students tried the eggs! We are a brave group, one student went back for thirds! We have learned a lot about Dr. Seuss this week. Ask your student what they noticed about Dr. Seuss? Why does he write books? What type of words (rhyming) does he love to use? What are some silly words Dr. Seuss invented to use in his stories?

This week we also prepared for conferences. Students went through their writing journals and picked out a few of their favorite pages to show you. We have also been practicing reading our "book club" books, in anticipation to show off our reading skills! Here is the link to sign up for a time if you have not been able to do so yet!

The Spring Book Fair is COMING and we need volunteers to keep it running!

Our VERY profitable Izzi B Scholastic Book Fairs can only happen with volunteers helping to run the registers, straighten up book shelves and welcome the students and adults! This is a great opportunity to volunteer as a family as both children and adults can help!

For each shift worked, adult volunteers will receive a $5 Scholastic Book Fair gift certificate to be used towards any purchase during the Spring 2019 Book Fair.
