Hello dear families,
Homework
Sight Words -
The homework that went home today was a sheet with the FRY WORDS. There are 2 sides - the first 100 and the second 100. Please continue to work on the first 100. If your child knows 95 or more of the first 100, then please work on the second 100. I will begin end of year sight word testing NEXT WEEK.
Play Script/7 Habits -
A play script went home for our end of year play. This will be performed on the last day of school. Maria will be performed by Lorelei, Christopher will be performed by Paul, Lou will be performed by Cayden, the TV will be performed by Audun, the Bed will be performed by Jonah and Chris, and the Bookshelf will be performed by Nyles. Everyone else in the class will be the Narrators (the narrators will speak in chorus). Please help your child to memorize his/her lines for the play.
In addition, we will be presenting our learning about the 7 habits of happy kids, and will be singing a song for each habit. Cyprus will introduce habit 1, Jonah will introduce habit 2, Audun will introduce habit 3, Nyles will introduce habit 4, Elizabeth will introduce habit 5, Madelyn will introduce habit 6 and Colin will introduce habit 7. A script for these habit introductions also went home today with these children. Please help your child to memorize this.
A note about individual speaking lines: I asked the children to raise their hands if they would like an individual speaking part, and would be willing to work on memorizing their part at home. All children who wanted to do this were given individual speaking parts.
Monday
This is a reminder that there is no school on Monday.
Last Day of School 5/31
The last day of school, 5/31, is a half day for students. We will be having our end of year performance and celebration that day. Parents are invited to come at 9:30am. We will have our performance at 9:30. When we are done with that, students will share their portfolios with their parents. After that we will have EITHER a potluck in the classroom or will join the school in an all-school picnic (I am still waiting to hear about that). Either way, we will have time to eat together, socialize, and celebrate your children's growth. And they HAVE grown. SO MUCH. I am exceedingly proud of the academic, social and behavioral growth that your kiddos have made this year. Let's come together to celebrate them.
Warm Regards,
Rebecca
