Important events! Auction and Conferences!

Well, February certainly has been a crazy month!   I wanted to begin by thanking so many of you for all of your support during the strike.  Whether you brought treats for teachers, marched a few laps in the picket line, wrote a letter, supported me personally, or supported the kids and staff inside the building, I was overwhelmed by the Izzi B's parents' commitment.  I am so thrilled to be back in the classroom in front of the kids.

Some other important nuts and bolts

I remember when my children were elementary age.  One of the first ways that I became "connected" with others in their school was by attending the school's annual auction.  Unfortunately, Colorado is one of the least funded states in the nation in terms of education, so most any incidentals that are needed by schools must be funded through parent donations.  Auctions create a fun way to do this, and parents often walk away with some pretty good deals!   In addition to the fundraising nature, the auction provides an opportunity to bring the community together. The Izzi B's annual auction is coming up March 15 at the Hangar at the Stanely Marketplace (6:00-10:00 pm).   This is such an important event for our school, as it determines what types of "extras", which are often more like "essentials", our kids receive.  It helps to fund things like exploratories, professional development for teachers, technology needs, arts week, and other critical Izzi B  needs.  It is also just an extraordinarily fun opportunity to meet and bond with the Izzi B community.  I will definitely be there, and I'd love to spend some time with you if you are able to attend. Go here  to purchase tickets:  https://izzibauction.com/.  If you have any questions about the event, you can also reach out to Lauren or Brad Dolian, Emma's parents, who are helping to co-chair the event.  Lauren's email is laurendolian@gmail.com.

Conferences are just around the corner!  I am so excited to sit down with you and your children so they can share their learning with you.  I'm sorry that the signup is a bit late in coming, but I have had to work out translators and the need to attend an additional community budget meeting within the timeslots.  You can click this link to register for a spot. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508054AAAAC2F4-conferences2

Look for a classroom update to come later this week!
