Spring Exploratories…We need your help!

The Spring session of Exploratories begins Friday, March 1st, and will run for 7 Fridays in the Winter/Spring from 1:40-2:30 pm (3/7, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 4/5, 4/12, and 4/19). Exploratories provide opportunities for students to learn about a topic of interest from an expert in that topic. K-2nd graders participate in the Spring session, and will have a variety of topics from which to choose. In order to keep class sizes reasonable (14 or fewer), it is crucial that we can provide a large number of options. Exploratories are led by a combination of commercial (paid) vendors, school staff, and parent volunteers. We are in need of additional volunteers to assist with several Exploratories. For example, the Bluff Lake Nature Center staff are in need of volunteers to walk, on just a few Fridays, with their staff and the students safely from the school to the Nature Center, and back. Additionally, if any volunteers could lead a simple Exploratory, such as Board Games, for which the materials are already available, this would free up school staff to lead or assist with other Exploratories. All that is required is a quick, free DPS background check (if you don't already have one).
