Dear families,
As I look at the 1st grade reading scores at this time of year, I have noticed a trend across the board. Our students are struggling with synonyms. In general, this is not they cannot produce ANY synonym, but because their vocabularies do not include many "rich" "juicy" synonyms. I have made a file of the synonyms that we are going to be working on in class, and have attached it to this Deets message. If you are able to access it, and work on incorporating this vocabulary into your discussions with your child at home, it will help your kiddo a lot. THANK YOU!
