Weekly Blast
Happy Monday everyone!!
This week we have some awesome things happening in our class!
Reading
We are reviewing the practice CMAS questions, a few each day, so the kiddos can practice using the tools and to get them used to the question formats as well. We are also working on writing a narrative. We are rewriting our story Lon Po Po (The Chinese version of Red Riding Hood) from the Wolf's point of view, I am excited to see the creativity!
Math
In math we are diving right on in to our geometry unit. We will be studying area and perimeter of squares and rectangles. We will also be looking at polygons. Today we were using geoboards to learn about different types of polygons. The students were looking at quadrilaterals, parallel lines, lines of symmetry, and different angles as they created their various shapes. See the attached photo (hopefully it attaches properly!).
Writing
We will be working on our Lon Po Po narrative, but also working on writing a How To book explaining how to light a bulb in a circuit.
